Once the funeral has been completed, it is a Canadian tradition for a
family member to invite relatives an friends back to their home for
refreshments. Many still do this, but many can not because their
apartment or home is not large enough to accommodate a sizable
gathering.
Years ago, we saw the need and designed our spaciously sized Fireside
Room for just this purpose. It is large enough to accommodate up
to 100 adults and children with the furniture comfortably arranged to
small intimate groups, or large groups. With the additional
adjoining lounge, we are able to meet the needs for even larger
gatherings.
One of the most welcome services that we provide is tea and coffee in
the Fireside Room, with its comfortable surroundings. There is
ample seating for small, intimate gatherings with relatives and
friends. Many families invite their friends and relatives to
join them in this informal setting. As with visitation, it is a
time to reflect, reminisce and renew acquaintances in an environment
that encourages conversation and warm greetings.
It
doesn't take long for smiles to re-appear as family and friends enjoy
the refreshments and engage in conversation.
The environment is home-like. We can even arrange for fine bone
china and discreet hostesses to serve.
All food is catered by a leading company and there are many selections
available; from the deluxe, which includes assorted tea sandwiches,
many pastries, tarts, cheese, punch, fruit, veggie and relish trays to
the basic, tasty sandwiches and cookies. The furniture placement
has been designed, again, to make it easy for the disabled to
comfortably move about and visit.
The Fireside Room is the ideal setting for saying thanks, and renewing
old friendships. |
