FERNS, Daniel 1951 - 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Daniel Ferns. Predeceased by his father, Joseph. Survived by his loving wife, Linda; his mother, Anne; sisters, Mary (Bill), Anne (Eric); brothers, Thomas (Lorna), George (Andrea), Joseph (Laureen), many nieces, nephews, close friends and relatives in various parts of the world. Born in Greenock Scotland Daniel went to sea as a Ships Engineer travelling the world before settling in Vancouver. He was larger than life and you always felt loved in his presence. The family would like to thank Dr. Gary Hayes and staff along with the Tri-cities Palliative Care team. A special thanks to Dr. Aliya Kabani for her support and tireless efforts. Prayers will be held on Thursday, July 1 at 7:00 pm at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Port Coquitlam followed by a Catholic mass at 10:00 am the next day with reception and celebration of his life to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to Leukemia Research at BC Cancer Society.
