LALIBERTE, Andre Joseph Denis October 31, 1952 - June 12, 2010 On the beautiful, sunny Saturday afternoon, Andy said goodbye to his family and friends as he looked out towards the sparkling waters of English Bay and trees of Stanley Park from his room at VGH. He drifted in and out as he listened to friends and family tell stories and reminisce, and say their final farewells. As he peacefully drifted off Andy once again became a free spirit who could run, ski, sail and speak his mind. Predeceased by his father Real in 2009. He is survived by his mother Angele, his brothers and sisters, Gloria (James), Leona (Frank), Ron (Angie), Gilles, Lianne (Derek). He will be missed by his nieces and nephews, Angela, Jason, Brett, Erica, Arden, Connor, Mitchel and Jena. Andy taught in School District No. 43 (Coquitlam) for 20 years before becoming ill with ALS. He was involved in many things including the BC Winter Games, Canadian Winter Games, District Elementary School Track Meets and coaching in various school sports. At George Pearson Care Centre, over the years Andy coordinated and hosted Annual summer BBq's for the families and patients of Ward 2. He also supported and helped with fundraising with the BC Lions for the Boys and Girls Club of BC and funded school scholarships. Andy touched many lives with his kind and caring ways and will be deeply missed. A special thanks to staff at George Pearson Center, Marishiel Ilao from Classic Care Givers, and to his devoted friends Steve, Jacque-Andre, Wendy and John. In lieu of flowers donations to the ALS Society of BC would be greatly appreciated. Service to be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Coquitlam, 828 Laval Square on June 22, 2010 at 3:30 pm. Reception to follow at All Saints Catholic Church Hall, Coquitlam, 821 Fairfax St.
